巴西淡水河谷代表团访问冶金国重

2021年4月20日上午，巴西淡水河谷对外事务部总经理冯薇带队访问冶金国重，就低碳冶金相关技术进行了交流。巴西技术市场部的Olivera等人以在线会议的形式参加了会议，冶金国重刘青教授、左海滨教授和杨树峰教授等进行了对接。

淡水河谷是一家全球性矿业公司，是全球领先的铁矿石生产商和第二大镍生产商，在2020《财富》世界500强中排名第333位。淡水河谷致力于成为全球第一的自然资源公司。北科大与淡水河谷具有良好的合作关系，曾与北科大就铁矿石高效利用进行过联合科研攻关。

钢铁冶金新技术国家重点实验室以引领矿产资源安全高效开发、钢铁行业绿色低碳高质量发展为目标，聚焦绿色矿冶基础理论、矿产资源绿色智能开发及高效利用、能量高效转化、特殊钢冶金及智能矿冶装备与安全等领域开展科学技术基础研究，引领冶金智能制造发展，建成世界一流矿冶工业科学研究、高端人才培养和国际学术交流的高水平基地。

2020年，习近平主席在第七十五届联合国大会上郑重提出中国“二氧化碳排放力争于2030年前达到峰值，努力争取2060年前实现碳中和”，充分体现了大国责任和担当。钢铁工业是全球碳排放的重点行业，淡水河谷和北京科技大学大学作为全球钢铁工业的重要参与者，具有相似的愿景和使命，有责任有义务为“碳达峰，碳中和”贡献应有的力量。

通过本次会议，淡水河谷和冶金国重进一步增进了彼此了解，对一些共性技术进行了深入技术讨论，下一步将进一步推进交流并形成实质性的合作关系。

VALE of Brazil visited SKLAM for low-carbon metallurgy exchange

On April 20th, 2021, Feng Wei, General Manager of External Affairs Department of VALE of Brazil, led a team to visit the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallurgy (SKLAM) and exchanged views on technologies related to low carbon metallurgy. Olivera and others from Brazil Technical Marketing Department attended the meeting in the form of online meeting. Professor Liu Qing, Professor Zuo Haibin and Professor Yang Shufeng attended the meeting.

VALE is known as a global mining company, the world's leading iron ore producer, ranked 333 on the 2020 Fortune Global 500 list. VALE is committed to becoming the world's number one natural resources company. USTB has a good cooperative relationship with VALE, and conducted joint research on the efficient utilization of iron ore.

State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallurgy (SKLAM) focuses on the fundamental and technological research on green mining-metallurgy theory, intelligent exploitation and utilization of mineral resources, efficient conversion of energy, special steel metallurgy, intelligent mining-metallurgy equipment and safety. SKLAM aims at leading the efficient exploitation of mineral resources, green-low carbon-quality development and intelligent metallurgy, so as to build a world-class base for scientific research in mining-metallurgy industry, training of high-level talents, and international academic exchanges.

In 2020, at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, President Xi Jinping proposed that China will "strive to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060". VALE and USTB, as important players in the global steel industry, share similar visions and missions, and have the responsibility and obligation to contribute to "carbon neutrality and carbon peak".

In this meeting, VALE and USTB further enhanced mutual understanding, in-depth technical discussions, and will be able to form a substantive cooperative relationship in the future.
